Family Background:
Dalton comes from a female-headed household. His parents are divorced and he stays with a mother and aunt. Dalton is an only child. Dalton’s mother sells second hand clothes, called ‘salaula’. The business, however, has not been faring well and this has made it difficult to provide for Dalton’s education. Despite of this difficult background, Dalton is a very hard working and happy boy.
Dalton's Education:
While at Mumana Basic School, Dalton was described as a very intelligent student who never disappointed his mother when it came to schoolwork. He earned first or second position in class every year since he was in nursery school. His teacher at primary school ranked his performance in class as always above good, which is evident in his ability to read and comprehend work.
At Ibex Hill Secondary School (Grade 8):
Now in Grade 8 at Ibex Hill Secondary School, Dalton has continued to produce excellent results. So far this year he has obtained high scores in his end of term tests. In Term 1, he achieved the second position in his class with 478 overall points. In Term 2, he maintained the second position but attained 526 points, showing an improvement in his performance. In his own words he says, “I have improved in math, geography, French and a little in English.”
Dalton's Interests:
Before enrolling at Ibex Hill Secondary School, Dalton enjoyed playing football, reading and watching movies. There are now some new additions to the list, and some great achievements as well.
Dalton is an active member of both the chess and scrabble clubs. He is the captain of the under 13 boy’s soccer team, scoring 12 goals in 10 matches. He also takes part in running events, coming second in a relay event during an inter-house sports event. Last but not least, Dalton has a new love for basketball as well. This exposure is giving him a grand educational experience at Ibex Hill.
Career Interests:
Dalton is very sharp and wants to be a doctor in the future. It upsets Dalton to see disabled children, and he hopes to focus on that practice when he is a doctor. Dalton loves to read and socialize in his free time.
